Has your pre-season, like mine, started a little slowly? Never mind! There’s still lots of time to catch up. Plus, there’s only been a handful of pre-season games with plenty to come.
I’ve gone over the tapes, trawled through the stats, and searched social media to see which players put in the most eye-catching performances of the first few Marsh Community Series matches.
St Kilda v Hawthorn
Six goals for Tim Membrey ($436k) is a huge start from the big Saint, but we can’t recommend considering him just yet. 164 SC POINTS
All of a sudden Rowan Marshall ($599k) is the fourth-most expensive ruckman. Scored a majority of his points as a forward in the second half. 117 SC POINTS
21 possessions and a strong return for Brownlow Medalist Tom Mitchell ($631k). Be cautious. 83 SC POINTS
Western Bulldogs v North Melbourne
Marcus Bontempelli ($623k) gave everybody a reminder of his unique ability with a dazzling 37-disposal, eight-tackle, two-goal game. 195 SC POINTS
Ball-magnet Jack Macrae ($669k) showed us there’s still lots of potential in picking him, despite the hefty price. 121 SC POINTS
New Roo Aiden Bonar ($203k) is a dual position player and grabbed 15 touches to go with eight tackles. Promising start. 76 SC POINTS
Tag-teaming in ruck with Todd Goldstein, Tristan Xerri ($124k) showed lots of promise including ability up forward, with two goals. 97 SC POINTS

Melbourne v Adelaide
A mammoth 38 touches and three goals for a fresh-looking Christian Petracca ($441k). A whopping 187 SC POINTS
Matt Crouch ($563k) is likely to miss the start of the season after a high bump on Clayton Oliver left him bleeding. 85 SC POINTS
Smooth-mover Wayne Milera ($403k) looked good, rarely missing a target from his 29 disposals. 102 SC POINTS
Gold Coast v Geelong
New Sun Hugh Greenwood ($463k) played plenty of midfield and finished with 25 touches and nine tackles. Mid-price makes him an awkward selection. 108 SC POINTS
Number one draft pick Matthew Rowell ($207k) immediately looked the part with 20 disposals and seven tackles. 100 SC POINTS
Can Quinton Narkle ($397k) find a permanent spot in Geelong’s midfield this season? He got 26 touches but played between midfield and forward. 114 SC POINTS
Connor Budarick ($107k) is at a super cheap price, is dual position and looks like he can play. 75 SC POINTS
Brisbane v Port Adelaide
Dan Houston ($485k) has been the talk of pre-season with his touted move to the midfield causing excitement amongst the SuperCoach ranks. 95 SC POINTS
Lachie Neale ($659k) sometimes takes his own ball to matches. 46 disposals and four tackles. 165 SC POINTS
The big man Stef Martin ($501k) absolutely obliterated Peter Ladhams in ruck. 137 SC POINTS
West Coast v Essendon
The big recruit and class act Tim Kelly ($561k) started slowly in his new colours but worked into it well, finishing with 27 touches and goal. 99 SC POINTS
Will Snelling ($321k) is an awkward price but another showing like this will make him tough to ignore. 20 touches, two goals and seven marks. 117 SC POINTS
Those in the know believe Bailey Williams ($124k) is in with a chance for a round one selection as a ruckman. Didn’t look too out of place. 68 SC POINTS
A solid return for star Bomber Devon Smith ($335k). 20 touches and six touches was a good night for the mid-forward. 87 SC POINTS
