Melbourne Renegades BBL|06 Fantasy Preview

The Renegades have recruited strongly in the off-season bringing in the likes of Brad Hogg and Sunil Narine as they push for their second finals berth in BBL history. But which players from the Renegades will aid your push for BBL glory?

PLAYERS TO LOCK 🔒

Dwayne Bravo [BAT/BOWL] $97,700
The self-proclaimed ‘New Big Dog’ was arguably the Renegades MVP last season making 201 runs at an average of 50.25 and claiming a handy 6 scalps with the ball. Expect that to continue despite the inclusions of Hogg and Narine as he will be their 3rd seam option and will bat around the 4-6 mark. He’s one to look at despite his price tag come the Renegades double game weeks.

Sunil Narine [BOWL] $75,000
Narine the Renegades other West-Indian international import is a great pick up for the team. Over his T20 career he has picked up 241 wickets while going at a measly economy rate of 5.68. He will be the star of the Renegades attack and he is priced at a very affordable 75K.

PLAYERS TO LOOK AT  👁

Marcus Harris [BAT] $30,000
The 24-year-old’s move to Victoria has been paying off and he is currently in terrific form with the bat and is the Sheffield Shield’s top run scorer with 409 runs at 68.16. He will probably open the batting with Aaron Finch or come in at 3 to start the tournament which is great value for someone at 30K.

Peter Nevill [WK] $30,000
Despite being dropped from Australia’s Test team recently as a result of his poor form with the willow Nevill is well worth a look in for our BBL Fantasy sides. Even though he will bat low in the Renegades order he will be a lock for their XI with Wade likely occupied with international duties for the entire tournament.

Cameron White [BAT] $52,900
White has had a superb season so far in both the Matador Cup (457 runs at 76.16) and Sheffield Shield (307 runs at 102.33). He also enjoyed a decent campaign last year and with a position at the top of the Renegades order waiting for him he is almost a lock in our sides.

PLAYERS TO LEAVE 🚷

Aaron Finch [BAT] $108,200
Even though Finch has proven countless times he is the Renegades main man he has been in poor form as of late. Add to that his high price tag in addition to his international duties he will have during the tournament and the Renegades tricky fixture it is probably best just to leave him this time around.

Xavier Doherty [BOWL] $45,200
The off-season additions of Narine and Hogg will leave no room in the best XI for Doherty this season. He also hasn’t been featuring in Tasmania’s domestic side as of late which will not help his cause either.

  1. Who do you think is the better option out of C White and M Harris. M Harris allows me to get Willey or Watson whereas with C White the available funds allow me to get S Broad.
    Current team:
    Batsmen: T Head, D Christian, B McCullum, M Marsh, K Sangakkara,(K Pietersen, M Harris)
    Wicket keepers: B Dunk,(T Paine)
    Bowlers: D Bravo, D Willey, S Badree, B Laughlin, J Botha,(J Faulkner, J Holland)

    1. Both are in very good form but if I was you I would go Harris since it allows you to grab Watson with his first round double.

White is still a good option but there are better options than Broad I believe.

  2. Watto is injured. Plz check updates on him.
I feel Broad gonna receive some pasting in BBL due to lack of T20 games lately.

      1. Most probably Holland will be main spinner as they have signed Jordan, a pacer in place of Rashid, main spinner.
Head can chip in with over or two but I feel Holland will be first choice spinner given his recent form.
