Blue Chip Investment
Brendon Goddard – $524,60 – Midfielder
If you haven’t already heard (you must’ve been living under a rock), as a result of 12 current Essendon FC players being banned from the game for 12 months, SuperCoach star from the past few years Brendon Goddard has been awarded the captaincy of a battered and bruised Essendon lineup. With this current situation it could benefit the pricey midfielder in terms of more midfield time and being motivated as a leader.

Mid Price Potential
David Zaharakis – $414,800 – Midfielder
Due to David Zaharakis not liking needles, David is now the only player who didn’t get banned out of the Bombers’ best 22 from 2012. After a injury-riddled and self confessed “shocking” 2015 season, David is set to prove himself in 2016 and if he can keep up his NAB scores he could be a really smokey for your team. Consider carefully.

Point Of Difference
Orazio Fantasia – $281,500 – Defender
Could be anything this kid. Showed a bit when he came back from injury last year. Played the last three games of the season and had 104 SuperCoach points from 27 disposals in round 23. Consistency is the only issue with Fantasia, which was shown in the NAB challenge when he had a solid score of 92 and crappy scores of 55 and 47.
NAB SC scores: 92, 55, 47
Darcy Parish – $202,800 – Midfielder
As close as a sure thing that you can have when it comes to playing round one. Absolutely love this kid, can see myself wearing his number on the back of my guernsey in years to come. Only problem is he only played just the one NAB game (74 points) and is at the high end for a rookie player priced at $202k. If he is named round one (which he will be), consider him heavily.
NAB SC scores: 74
Matthew Leuenberger – $310,700 – Ruck/Forward
Did not play all NAB Challenge, too injury prone, getting older and just can’t see him getting on the park for the first few rounds. It’s a no brainer, you can’t possibly select any player without seeing them play a pre season game. Except for Gary Ablett of course 😇🐏😇🐏. See Jesse’s Buyer Beware on Berger here.
NAB SC scores: Did not play
Think about: Kyle Langford. At 188k Langford is going into his second year and has impressed club officials. Langford put on 4kg of pure muscle over the off season which is sure to help him.
There are many other rookie priced options that are set to play round one from the Bombers’ line up. Mitch Brown, Matthew Dea, Michael Hartley, Anthony McDonald Tippungwutti, Nick Kommer and Sam Grimley are just some that fit in this category.
