4th and Inches

The wheat is starting to separate from the chaff in NFL season 2015/16, and incredibly there remain 5 teams who still haven’t experienced the bitter taste of defeat – the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers. Ironically the Broncos and Packers take each other on this week, so the undefeated teams will be at least cut down by one. To our fantasy predictions from last week and we again had mixed results, our biggest winner being QB Brian HOYER with a very tidy 20.92 pts. TE WATSON scored a respectable 5.9 pts, however WR MOORE (0.0 pts) and RB LANGFORD (BYE) provided us with nothing. Lets have a look at those that impressed from week 7.

QUARTERBACKS
The QB star to congratulate from last weekends matches was revitalized Miami leader Ryan TANNEHILL. Under the new coach TANNEHILL has fired, this time throwing for 282 yds and 4 TDs, including an incredible 18 of 19 passing completions. That led to a 27.58 pt game for the 12th ranked QB, who is still only owned by 85.5% of leagues.

To the signal-caller who impressed from round 7 and that went to Washington’s Kirk COUSINS. The top-ranked QB game fro the week, COUSINS managed 30.18 pts from 317 yds passing for 3TDs, along with 15 yds rushing and 1 TD. Ranked 16th overall, COUSINS is only owned in 2.6% of leagues and could be a sneaky bench option at least – even with the bye this weekend.

RUNNING BACKS
Its amazing what a change of coach can do isn’t it? Not only is TANNEHILL playing well, but Miami RB Lamar MILLER has turned a huge corner in the last fortnight, following up a 17.8 pt game with a huge 35.6 pt game last weekend – and all of that was done in the first half! Unbelievable. 175 yds receiving with 1 TD, along with 61 yds rushing and another TD. Ranked 11th and owned in 97 % of leagues, he’s finally showing some form.

To the RB to watch and this week its the Chiefs turn, with Charcandrick WEST putting his best foot forward in rushing for 110 yards and a TD from 22 carries, along with 19 yds receiving. Not a bad 18.9 pt game from the Jamaal CHARLES replacement, who is only owned in 35% of leagues.

WIDE RECEIVERS
First up to our shining star in the WR position, and that goes to the Colts T.Y. HILTON who this time around managed 27 pts on the back of 4 catches for 150 yds and 2 TDs. Ranked 8th and owned in virtauly every league, HILTON might finally be turning it around for his owners after having 13 pts the week previous.

The WR to watch who might be on the rise is the Vikings Stefon DIGGS. Ranked 48th and only owned in 35% of leagues, DIGGS appears to have zoned in with QB Teddy BRIDGEWATER, backing up a 13 pt game the previous week with a 17.7 pt match this time, consisting of 108 yds receiving and 1 TD. He is certainly one to watch going forward.

TIGHT ENDS
How can we go past the #1 TE in the competition, the unstoppable Rob GRONKOWSKI? The GRONK is an absolute machine, and his 16.8 pts this round was on the back of 108 yds receiving and 1 TD – all amidst 11 catches, a career best total. With 4 games above 10 pts, GRONK is just continuing on where he left off in previous seasons. What a star.

Already the focus of the segment a few weeks ago, Washington TE Jordan REED is still only in 20% of leagues, and is currently ranked 7th at his position. His 19.2 pt game last weekend was a ripper, with 72 yds receiving and 2 TDs being topped off by one of them winning the game for the Redskins. He also led the team in targets, receptions and yardage. Get on board.

MONEYBALL BARGAINS
There’s plenty of NFL Moneyball competitions again this weekend, from matches involving only a few games to others where players from every match being played can be selected. If you’re that way inclined, have a close look at the following names, who on recent form certainly seem to be bargain selections. QBs this week have a glance at Russell WILSON ($9,300) and Jameis WINSTON ($7,500), whilst in the RB position look at Doug MARTIN ($7,300) and Lamar MILLER ($6,800). As far as WRs go, consider Brandon MARSHALL ($8,600) and Michael CRABTREE ($5,700), and for TEs have a squizz at Gary BARNIDGE ($6,200) and Tyler EIFFERT ($6,000).

Good luck but remember always gamble responsibly
