BBL Captain’s Corner – Grand Final

Hi guys and welcome to the Grand Final edition of the Captain’s Corner. Sorry I’m late posting guys I had no internet and currently my internet is super laggy as of last night so I’ll do my best to get this out as quick as possible. The final features the Scorchers and the Sixers a rematch of the BBL 01 final and both teams have fantasy friendly players.

1. Shaun Marsh – Marsh was on fire in his first BBL 04 game against the Stars but in his second didn’t find the fluency he would’ve liked. Marsh is in good form though and could be ready to go big for the Scorchers in the final as the Scorchers look to become BBL champions 2 years in a row.

2. Jason Behrendorff – It is extremely hard to split Marsh and Behrendorff apart as your captain so you could almost consider them both as number 1 in the Captain’s Corner this week. Behrendorff has been the Scorchers best bowler consistently this year and it has turned into big fantasy points for the tall left arm quick. He may not be at his most fantasy friendly ground in the WACA but he’s been able to produce outside of Perth.

3. Nic Maddinson – Maddinson displayed last round that he can bat patiently and only go for the big shots when there to hit. It’s something we’ve wanted Maddo to do all tournament and he finally did it in a big game for the Sixers against the top regular season team in the Strikers. If Maddo can bat like this again I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pull out another big 100.

4. Nathan Coulter-Nile – Perth took a huge risk last week playing NCN as he hasn’t played a competitive match for months but it payed off big time. NCN produced a nice cameo with the bat but more importantly did very well with the ball picking up a couple of wickets. He may be listed as an expensive all-rounder but he is worth it because of the potential of how big he can score.

5. Andrew Tye – After copping stick from a home Perth crowd after letting McKay get away with a maiden over Tye made up for that with an outstanding performance with the ball. Tye picked up incredible figures of 4 for 18 of four overs. Tye has produced for the Scorchers all year and has been a great pickup for them. Tye could prove to be a bit of a POD for your captaincy.

Honourable Mentions – Yasir Arafat, Moises Henriques, Michael Lumb, Michael Klinger, Brett Lee, Nathan Lyon, Brad Hogg, Doug Bollinger, Jordan Silk
