Predicted Round 1 Teams – Western Bulldogs, Adelaide, GWS

Hope you enjoyed the predicted Round 1 teams released last night. This time around you will find the predicted 22s for Western Bulldogs, Adelaide and GWS. Thanks to the team at Over the Line Sports for helping us out with the Adelaide team. They’ll feature in a few more predicted 22s as well.

Western Bulldogs – Kevin – @Seekersupacoach

B: Morris, Adams, Boyd
HB: Johannisen, Wood, Suckling
C: Hunter, Dahlhaus, Macrae
HF: Jong, Cloke, Picken
F: C.Smith, Crameri, Stringer
FOL: Boyd, Bontempelli, Liberatore
INT: Murphy, Daniel, Cordy, McLean

Next in line: Lynch, English, Dunkley

Comments: Brad Lynch will play sometime this year as part of the Doggies defensive depth. Tim English will play too, may even get named Round 1 if Bevo decides he wants a true ruck back up for Boyd. Dunkley not picked and is an example of the depth in the Dogs midfield.

Greater Western Sydney – James Herbert – @herbie0809

B: Haynes, Davis, Shaw
HB: Williams, Tomlinson, Wilson
C: Scully, Griffen, Kelly
HF: D.Smith, Cameron, Greene
F: S.Johnson, Patton, Lobb
FOL: Mumford, Ward, Shiel
INT: Taranto, Hopper, Buntine, A.Kennedy

Not far off: Reid, M.Kennedy, Mzungu

Comments: The Giants will face a tough road trip to Adelaide to kick off their 2017 campaign, without out one of their most influential midfielders and vice-captain Stephen Coniglio. With Giants depth being tested early, the likes of Josh Kelly and Dylan Shiel will have to lead from the front in the midfield. Throw in young gun Tim Taranto and this Giants side will be giving the Crows plenty of headaches. It was hard to squeeze Matt Kennedy out of the Round 1 side, but he’s a very handy reserve to have, along with new recruit Tendai Mzungu. Expect those two especially to be snapping at the heels of the 22 selected.

Adelaide – Corey Wade – @OTSLCorey

B: Brown, Hartigan, Lever
HB: Laird, Talia, Smith
C: Atkins, Sloane, Mackay
HF: Cameron, Walker, Lynch
F: Betts, Jenkins, McGovern
FOL: Jacobs, M.Crouch, Hampton
INT: Otten, Douglas, Wigg, Milera

Not far off: Knight, Galluci, Cheney

Comments: Seedsman, Thompson and Brad Crouch have had little to no preseason to date. Otten starts in the 22 but will battle for a spot with Kyle Cheney. Thompson will be pushing for a spot in the 22 when he is fit, but a player like Wigg can keep him out if he performs (click here for ‘Over the Line Sports’ Adelaide 2017 Preview).
